Cecil Douglas, 86
Cecil Douglas of Liberty died Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. he was 86.
Born in Casey County on April 5, 1918, he was a sun of the late Milford and Betty Ann Rayborn Douglas.
He was a former employee of A&D Supermarket and former part-time newspaper carrier for The Casey County News. He formerly attended Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church.
Survivors include a niece Barbara Litteral of Tipp City, Ohio; a nephew, William Aaron Douglas, Jr., of Lincoln, Nebraska and a great-niece Heather Douglas of Lincoln, Nebraska.
He was proceeded in death by a brother, William Aaron Douglas Sr.
Funeral services will be today, (January 26) at 11a.m. at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel with the REv. Homer Hecht officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry King, Malcolm and Jack Douglas, Eugene Russell and James G. Weddle.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Casey County Adult Day Care Participant Fund in care of Joyce Maupin, 39 KY 49, Liberty, Ky 42539
Jeffrey Cooper, 47
Jeffrey Cooper of Detroit Michigan, died Monday, January 17, 2005 at Oakland Hospital. He was 47.
Born in Michigan on October 23, 1957, he was a son of Agnes Cooper of Detroit, Michigan.
He was an employee of Sears and a member of Gelead Baptist Church.
Besides his mother, survivors include a grandmother, Beatrice Cooper of Liberty' and six aunts and uncles, including Patricia Emerson of Liberty.
Funeral services were January 21, 2005 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Patton officiating. Burial was in Hiter Cemetery.
Sandra Jernigan, 44
Sandra Jernigan of Liberty died Monday, January 24, 2005 at her home. She was 44.
Born in Cincinnati on May 1, 1969, she was a daughter of William Collins of Liberty and the late Betty Davis Collins.
Besides her father, survivors include a daughter, Stefanie Bryant of Liberty, a son, Anthony William Jernigan of Cincinnati; four sisters, Teri Cochran of Liberty, Rosetta Hughes and Peggy Gately both of Cincinnati and Pamela McCracken of Colorado, and four brothers, Leon Collins, Kenneth Collins, David Collins and Donnie Collins, all of Cincinnati.
She was proceeded in death by a sister, Patty Collins.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 27 at 11 a.m. at Vorhis Funeral Home in Cincinnati with the Rev. George Hale officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati.
Bartle Funeral Home, Liberty is in charge of local arrangements.
George W. Dostal, 70
George W. Dostal of Casey Creek died Friday, January 21, 2005 at his home. He was 70.
Born in Ohio on October 25, 1934, he was a son of the late George Victor and Mattie Wert Dostal.
He was co-owner of Heavenly Hollow Realtors and a U.S. Navey veteral of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Angel Carey Dostal; to step-sons, Stan Addis of Sough Carolina and Steve Addis of Morris, Illinois; and four step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
McKinney-Brown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
James C. Brim, 70
James C. "J.C." Brim of Campbellsville died Friday, January 21, 2005 at Taylor County Hospital. He was 70.
Born in Garrard County on June 23, 1934, he was a son of the late Harrison and Bessie Wincle Brim.
He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Odell Absher Brim; three sons James (and Cheryl) Brim, Tilford (and Martha) Brim and Dewey (and Teresa) Brim, all of Campbellsville; four daughters, Ruth Jean (and Mike) Gaudinier of Lexington, Bessie (and Mark) Johnson, Dorothy (and Scott) Malone, and Peggy (and Donald ) Raikes, all of Campbellsville; two brothers, Junior Brim of Cynthiana and Johnnie Brim of Ncholasville; three sisters, Nellie Lawrence of Nicholasville, Betty Graham of Lancaster and Shirley Dunaway; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were January 24, 2005 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with bro. James Collison officiating. Burial was in Lancaster Cemetery
Pallbearers were Donald Raikes, Donny Malone, Mark Johnson, Mike Gaudinier, Scott Smith and Terry Bryant.
Honorary pallbearers were John and Brian Gaudinier, Johnny and Stevie Malone, Ashley Cox, Jessica and Scott Maupin.
